You might have heard the term “parts integration” floating around in a podcast, in a reel, or during your own personal development work.
And you might have wondered: What does it actually mean? Why do we keep hearing things like:
“Part of me wants this… but part of me wants that.”
That language is your subconscious waving a big flag. That “tug of war” feeling? That’s a sign you’re holding two conflicting values, beliefs, or desires inside of you.
You’re not broken. You’re not sabotaging. You’re just trying to stay safe.
That internal push-pull is actually your parts communicating. And when they’re at odds, it can keep you stuck for years.
What Is Parts Integration, Really?
Parts integration is a subconscious NLP technique that helps you resolve internal conflict and restore congruency. It works with the parts of you that were created, most likely in childhood—to protect you.
From zero to seven, our subconscious mind creates parts like mini personalities to protect us. If you grew up reaching out for love and feeling rejected, your subconscious might form a wall, a part that says, ‘Don’t open up.. it’s safer this way.'”
These parts served a purpose. But fast forward to your adult life and now you want to connect, grow, or show up and that same part pulls back to keep you safe.
The result? You’re stuck. Or so you think.

How To Know If You Have Conflicting Parts
If you ever say things like:
- “Part of me wants to do it, but part of me doesn’t.”
- “I want more clients, but I’m scared to be visible.”
- “I want to raise my prices, but what if people can’t afford me?”
If you’re feeling stuck, spinning in circles, or going back and forth on a decision…
If there’s a critical voice in your head that nags, doubts, or holds you back…
It’s likely a part of you… trying to protect you the only way it knows how.
Not to sabotage you…
But because it thinks staying small is staying safe.
…you’re likely experiencing an internal parts conflict.
And those parts are holding positive intentions, they’re just operating from different timelines, beliefs, or survival strategies.
My team member, YES SUPPLY Trainer Jess said it beautifully:
“Once you start noticing it, you’ll hear it everywhere. We all have parts. Even over dinner ‘part of me wants the salad, part of me wants the fries.’ It’s not just mindset. It’s deep, subconscious patterning.”

What Happens When You Integrate a Part?
I shared in our chat that my brain used to feel like a talk show with six different guests arguing about why I couldn’t move forward. When I started doing parts integration, those voices merged. There was peace. I could finally think clearly.
When your parts integrate:
- You stop the internal debate.
- You take action without resistance.
- You feel calmer, more aligned, more confident.
- Your results compound, because your energy isn’t split.
- That inner mean dialogue goes away
Our research backs this up:
- 90% of participants felt more congruent after going through the YES SUPPLY Parts Integration technique
- 80% had less frustration and anger just two months later
The shift is real and it’s measurable.
Why Every Coach Needs This In Their Toolbelt
As a coach, this is one of the most important tools you can have.
Because your clients aren’t just blocked by mindset they’re often blocked by parts of themselves that:
- Want the success, but also fear it
- Want abundance, but associate money with rejection or overwhelm
- Want to be seen, but feel safer hiding
When you know how to identify parts in a session (listen for that “part of me” language!), you can lovingly guide your client into deep, embodied change. (plus inside the yes supply method you learn tools to release limiting beliefs, negative emotions and to regulate your clients nervous systems… with all of these, transformation isn’t guess work, it’s a method that you can repeat)
Remember, I created this method because many of the old systems were outdated and didn’t take into account trauma sensitivity and DEI.
We don’t do NLP on people… we do it with people. That’s why this work is trauma sensitive, powerful, and collaborative.
Using Parts Integration in your sessions helps your clients stop looping, release self sabotage, and move forward with full body alignment.
Here’s how to begin… for yourself or with your clients:
Start Listening to Your Language
When you hear “part of me wants to,” pause. Notice the language and start to identify what each part wants.
Journal with Curiosity
Ask: What does this part want for me? What is it trying to protect? What does it believe I need? Just listening can begin the healing.
