How to Feel Worthy: A Guide to Embrace Success, Love, and Abundance

Feel worthy of success, love and abundance so you can receive and hold onto what you want in life.

One huge question that comes up in my coaching calls is “How do I feel worthy?” what is typically coming up when someone asks this question is they realize that their lack of feeling worthy or deserving of success is actually holding them back from creating it or having it.

This is so essential to address, because if you don’t feel worthy of good things, you will literally hold yourself back from it.

We’ve all been in situations where someone says “Oh you look great” and you deflect the comment.

Or someone gives you a gift and you say “Oh you shouldnt have and even refuse the gift”

These are all reflections of what’s happening within our subconscious mind. We are refusing something good because our mindset and our worthiness doesnt allow us to have more.

So here’s what you need to do.

1. Remember you ARE worthy

One thing that helped me to feel worthy and remember that I am worthy is realizing that no one should be put on a pedestal. Including myself.

God made us all perfect in HIS image. We are all humans, incredible beings, and capable of so much. If I can see that potential in someone else, then I can allow myself to see that in myself.

One exercise that helps me with this is called “Perceptual Positions” which I teach in YES, It’s Yours– My personal development and self growth program.

Here’s how it works.

Usually when we talk to ourselves, we can be mean to ourselves or demeaning- but you would NEVER speak like that to a friend, or a child.

So imagine that you are sitting in one chair in a room, and then float out of your body and you are looking back at yourself on that chair as another person.

How to Feel Worthy

See yourself with new eyes, as someone completely new. If a new you with new eyes had seen everything that you had gone through, everything that you have overcome, and everything that you work so hard for, you wouldn’t be rude or demeaning.

You would be kind, you would be understanding, you would be loving.

And so just as you do that for someone else, do that for yourself.

There is no reason you should see yourself as ABOVE or BELOW someone else and this way of looking at yourself helps.

2. Allow Your Self Love Process To Become An ACT

How do you know someone loves you? Is it because of what they say? Or what they do?

Although hearing the words “I love you” feels amazing, the actions definitely have to match the words to know it’s real.

So if yelling at yourself in the mirror saying “I LOVE YOU SO MUCH” isn’t working- it’s time to combine it with acts of love too.

I think one of the best ways to get to know someone when you’re falling in love is through conversation, and I believe that to be true about ourselves. Journaling is GREAT for this.

So sit down and have an open conversation through journaling. Allow your pen to write on the page and you will be amazed at what comes up!

Ask yourself questions like:

What are some reasons I am worthy and deserving of what I want?

Why am I being so hard on myself? Is there something in the past that caused this? Am I mirroring how hard others (like parents) were to me in the past?

How can I develop my own voice of how to talk to myself that is kind, loving and nurturing?

If I saw someone with the exact same qualities as me, how would I act to them? What would I say to them and how much more understanding would I be?

These questions can help you have a conversation with you, and build a relationship of love, compassion and understanding with you.

This is so important because no one talks to you more than you. It’s your voice in your head all day telling you stories about how life is, making decisions, and self doubting. It’s time to allow that voice to help you in your life.

3. Stop the struggle with feeling worthy

If you’re really struggling with feeling worthy, you may need to also get your body involved in the mix.

Often when we suffer a trauma, the emotions get trapped in the body. So if self talk isn’t helping, then you may need to literally release these feelings from the body.

EFT Tappinng is a powerful technique that involves your body. It’s a somatic tool that you can use to signal to your brain and body that you are safe, lovable and worthy of what you want.

What you do is you tap on your energy meridian points, while repeating affirmations that help you release the feelings of unworthiness and then affirmation that affirm that you are worthy.

I go deep into how to use EFT Tapping for anything that you’re going through inside my course: YES, It’s Yours

Haven’t tried tapping yet? You can get familiar with what tapping is on my youtube channel here:

Struggling with Feeling Worthy of Nice Things

When you’re not feeling worthy of nice things, again, it’s important to take those things off a pedestal. You are a beautiful, immaculate incredible being created by GOD. You are meant to have nice things.

It’s not that these things are too nice for you. It’s simply that perhaps you grew up in an environment where you weren’t surrounded by these nice things, so it feels uncomfortable because you’re not familiar with it.

Because the subconscious mind doesnt know the difference between real and imagined, you can get familiar with things using Mental Rehearsal.

Whether its a luxury purchase, or it’s a incredible career opporunity, run through the vision of you doing and being in that environment in your mind. As you do this over and over again, your mind will become more familiar with that environment and you’ll begin to feel like nice things are your new normal.

You will set a standard and have boundaries that if someone is not nice, then it’s below the standard of life that you have for yourself.

You’ll expect more of others and you’ll expect more of yourself too. You’ll see that inside of you you have the talents, abilities and capabilities to get yourself out of lack and into the abundant life you want.

Remember, the very fact that you’re asking “Why am I struggling with feeling worthy?” means that on some level your subconscious mind knows you are meant for more.

I teach my science-backed approach to Mental Rehearsal inside YES, It’s Yours.

What Emotions Are Hiding Underneath Unworthiness?

Typically, the reason you FEEL unworthy is because there is some emotion coming up for you in events of environments where you could be receiving more.

When we’re feeling guilt, or shame these feelings really align with the feeling of unworthiness.

Guilt of something that we have done in the past can make us think to ourselves “Because I’ve done something bad in the past, I am a bad person. I’m not a good person and I don’t deserve this good thing for myself”

The more we sit in guilt the more we hold ourselves back from upleveling.

But remember, no one, including yourself, benefits from you sitting around in guilt.

If you recognize that you’ve done something wrong, then you are ready to rise up above the guilt.

In ways that you can, apologize, make amends, and improve the situation that you feel guilty for.

Forgive the situation, and forgive the past version of you who was only doing the best you could with the resources you had back then.

Decide that you will never do that thing again, and become the person who helps others rise out of tough situations too.

You will realize that you have so much potential within you when you stop letting a record of the past hold you back.

Feeling Unworthy Because of Shame

If Shame is what’s holding you back, this typically aligns with the thought “Because something bad happened to me in the past, I’m a bad and unworthy person, and I don’t deserve anything good. I might have deserved that thing that happened in the past, or I expect it to happen again”

If I can be real with you, this way of thinking is aligned with the Victim Mentality and that is serving no one.

And I can resonate because I stayed in a victim mentality for years and years and got nothing but more hardship. Because I became the victim of every situation I was in and only attracted more situations and more people who made me a victim.

I decided to release my feelings of shame and decide that I was a victor.

That I didn’t go through all of that because I’m a bad person. I went through it to learn powerful lessons that I could then go on to help and serve others with.

So if it’s possible for you, release the shame, release the guilt, and go on to be a victor of that past incident.

Give yourself grace. You’re growing. You’re learning. You’re only human. Make a promise to yourself that you won’t repeat old patterns and do that again and grow into who you’re meant to be in this life.

A powerful tool to release Shame and Guilt is Neural Energetic Encoding. I walk you through how to use it to release shame and guilt inside my program: YES, It’s Yours.

What Is The Root Of Feeling Unworthy?

At the very root, it’s not loving yourself, and seeing yourself as just as important, valuable, and lovable as anyone else.

I assure you. If you are here, you are important, you are lovable, you are meant to be here and you have a very important purpose.
