Curious how to turn your mindset coaching sessions into client success stories? Keep reading! Here are my best tips for how to structure a mindset coaching session so that you can feel confident in what you’re doing, get amazing results for your clients, and grow your mindset coaching business!
When I discovered mindset coaching, I KNEW it was what I wanted to do.
I’ve always been someone who loves deep conversations and seeing people at their highest potential. There’s nothing I love more than to help my clients transform and create their best lives!
But when I first got started, the thought of actually taking their money was daunting because I had so many fears, like “But what if they invest with me and then I’m not able to get them the results they want?”
So it quickly became important to me to learn how to run a successful mindset coaching session, and to make sure that I had all the tools I needed to help my clients transform.
I became certified in modalities like neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), Emotional Freedom Technique (or EFT Tapping), TIME Techniques, and hypnotherapy.
Now, I teach all of my favorite tools within the YES SUPPLY METHOD, which is a one-stop-shop for you to become certified in these modalities AND learn everything you need to know about running a successful mindset coaching business — from how to create your signature program, how to market yourself using social media, and how to tap into abundance and create the life of your dreams while helping others deeply, and of course, how to run your coaching sessions.
I’m still constantly studying mindset work, energy work, the Universal Laws, and anything I can related to mindset and manifestation, because I’m OBSESSED with helping my clients get the best transformation possible, and teaching my YES SUPPLY students how to do the same!
So here’s the question I want you to ask yourself:
If you were to hop on a call with your DREAM CLIENT today — someone who was willing to pay you THOUSANDS of dollars to transform their life — would you know exactly what to say and do in the coaching session?
I know that you’re here and you’re reading this for a reason.
I know that you want to know how to run your mindset coaching sessions so that you can deliver to your clients and truly transform their lives!
And I can tell you from experience that once I knew how to run successful mindset coaching sessions, I was SO confident. I stopped getting in my own way, I started showing up and putting myself out there more, and I started attracting clients seemingly out of nowhere!
Because I had this amazing structure for my coaching sessions, my clients became my brand ambassadors. I was able to build my business through word of mouth, grow my audience, attract customers, and earn more.
If you’ve ever wondered how to run a successful mindset coaching session, prepare to know exactly how to lead with confidence!
Below is a great outline to get you started.
(And psst… if you’d rather go through a workbook along with video guidance from me, you can also download my free step-by-step guide!)
1. Envision Yourself as the Coach You Want to Be
Before we dive into what you actually DO in your mindset coaching session, we have to start with who you want to BE as a coach.
A few questions to ask yourself and journal about:
- How do you want to see yourself in the world?
- What do you most want to help people with?
- Who are you in your dream life?
- What are the character traits of the person who has everything you want?
And in case you’re looking for a little inspiration, here are some of the most common traits of successful leaders, coaches, and influencers:
- Seek to give value and BE OF SERVICE to others
- CONFIDENTLY express their opinions
- Give themselves PERMISSION to be their best self and live their dream life
- See others at their HIGHEST POTENTIAL
- Love and ENJOY being themselves
- Have FUN playing the game of success
- Practice GRATITUDE for what they have now, and what is coming their way
Remember, the right clients will show up once YOU are clear on the kind of coach you want to be!
The Universe can only bring you what you’re ready for, so the sooner that you get clear on the coach you want to be and how you want to run your coaching sessions, the sooner your dream clients will find you.
2. Bring Your Highest Vibration To Your Mindset Coaching Sessions
Now that you’re clearer on who you want to BE as a mindset coach, the most important aspect of how you run your mindset coaching sessions is your ENERGY.
Yes, your energy is the MOST important thing you bring to your coaching sessions!
If you’re having a bad day, if you’re stressed, if you just had a fight with your partner, or you’re feeling frustrated by tech issues, your client will pick up on that energy!
To help show you what I mean, this is the scale of consciousness:
No matter what actually happens during the call, what your clients will remember is what the energy felt like, so you want to make sure that you bring your highest vibration possible into your coaching sessions!
There are lots of tools and techniques you can use to protect your energy and bring yourself to the highest possible vibration before a coaching session.
One of my favorite tools is EFT Tapping, which is amazing for releasing any fear, stress, anxiety, or nerves you might have before going into a call.
The beauty of Tapping is that it rebalances the signals being sent to the brain by tapping on the ends of energy meridian points in the body.
Here’s a simple tapping exercise you can do before a coaching session to release the feeling of being unsure of yourself:
If you’re an empath like me, you might want to get yourself a selenite crystal to help you keep your energy clear so you aren’t picking up on other peoples’ vibes.
You can use tools like sage, palo santo, or incense to clear the energy of your space before and after coaching sessions.
Sound healing is another great way to clear your space and your own energy. Listen to binaural beats, solfeggio sounds, or look up 528 Hz (the “Miracle Frequency”) on YouTube to get started!
You can also meditate before your coaching sessions and imagine you’re connecting to a divine source of energy that will flow through you and to your clients. (This is also important if you’re an empath, so that you’re not draining your own energy to heal your clients!)
These are all just ideas, so you can choose whatever tools and practices align with you the most!
Remember to always set the intention to be of service and bring your highest possible vibration to your mindset coaching sessions, and it will happen!
3. Map Out the Transformation You Want to Deliver
So many newer coaches are OBSESSED with landing clients, without even realizing that the way you attract clients is by knowing you can deliver the transformation that they’re looking for.
Are you a health coach who wants to help your clients transform so that they eat healthy, have tons of energy, and love what they’re seeing in the mirror?
Are you a business coach who helps clients go from feeling stuck to confidently showing up and executing on their brilliant ideas?
Are you a mindset coach (like me!) who wants to show your clients how to love who they are and build a life that makes them want to jump out of bed in the morning?
There are SO many more examples I can give you, but you can see that the transformation you offer starts with knowing what you’re passionate about, knowing what your clients are looking to transform, and knowing how you get them from point A to point B.
When I start working with a client, I like to start with goal-setting, and making sure that they’re setting goals that STRETCH them.
(Remember, as a coach, your job isn’t to be your client’s best friend and just cheer them on… your job is to PUSH them! So make sure they’re setting goals that align with their dream life!)
Once you’re clear on the goals your client wants to achieve through their work with you, you can outline the steps it would take to get them there in each coaching session.
You might want to check out my blog on How to Create a Signature Program to get super clear on all this!
4. Build Rapport and Hold Massive Space
When you start your mindset coaching session, the first thing you’ll want to do is deeply connect to your clients and build rapport.
There are lots of different ways to build rapport. If you’re an empath or healer or anyone who works with energy, you probably already have an intuitive sense of how to meet your clients where they are and mirror their energy.
Another way to build rapport is to pay attention to your clients’ words to discover their learning style and use words back to them that align with that style.
Most people are primarily visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learners, and if you listen closely to your clients, you can usually figure it out pretty quickly.
I’m mostly kinesthetic, so you’ll always hear me saying, “I feel…”
A visual learner might say something like, “I see your point,” whereas an auditory learner would more likely say, “I hear you, and that sounds good.”
Once you’ve established rapport with your clients, you want to see them at their highest potential and hold MASSIVE space for their dreams.
Think about it:
The reason people hire coaches is because they feel stuck in their current reality in some way, and everybody else in their life sees them where they are.
YOUR job as a coach is to meet them where they are but see them where they want to be!
Always hold the vision of the best-case scenario for your clients, and talk to them as if it’s done. And keep holding that space even when your human mind brings up doubts!
I remember one coaching session where I was working with a client, and she set the goal of selling her first coaching package for $4,000. When I first heard that goal, it hit me like “WHOA!” because I sold MY first coaching package for only $2,000.
But I knew it was my job to hold the vision of my client’s goal for her, (and help her design a package that delivered that value), and I shouldn’t project my own limiting beliefs onto her. I held the vision of her successfully selling the package and guess what? SHE DID IT!
Which brings me to another important reminder about mindset coaching — remember that you’re always your own first client! Keep working through your own limiting beliefs and you’ll be able to help your clients uplevel that much faster.
5. Learn How to Work With the Subconscious Mind
One of the keys to a successful mindset coaching session is to listen deeply and go beyond what your clients are saying. You’re the mirror that shows them their blind spots.
There’s ALWAYS something deeper to work on than what your clients THINK their problem is, and as a mindset coach, you can pick up on it by listening deeply to their language patterns.
For example, a lot of clients show up with the problem, “I’m not making enough money.” That’s the problem that they’re consciously aware of.
But subconsciously, there’s usually something deeper going on, and they’re so caught up in their patterns that they can’t see what it is.
When a client comes to a coaching session and tells me that they’re not making enough money, it’s often because subconsciously, they don’t see their own value, and so they keep undercharging for their services.
Or sometimes a client doesn’t feel good enough to show up, so they’re hiding — not sharing their work on social media, not creating a coaching package or a sales process — which are all the logical steps to take if they want to have a successful business! But they can’t see that if subconsciously they’re stuck in the limiting belief of “I’m not good enough.”
Other times, the client has a negative money story that’s holding them back buried deep in their subconscious. My own earliest memory around money (which I discovered through hypnosis) was of hearing my mom arguing about child support with my dad, which went into my subconscious mind as the belief, “If you talk about money, people will hate you.”
So after building rapport, in this part of your mindset coaching session you want to gather the important information through what they are telling you.
Listen for their limiting beliefs, limiting identities, negative emotions, and internal conflicts — these are clues to what is creating that problem within them — and you can use NLP and hypnosis to help them release these subconscious limitations.
Also, through goal-setting, you’ll be clear on where your clients want to go, and you can use techniques to motivate them, help them focus, and instill major belief in themselves.
By the end of the coaching session, set up actions that they can take to move them forward in their life.
This is why I’m so passionate about the tools I teach in the YES SUPPLY METHOD that help you go below the surface, access the subconscious mind, and know you have everything you need to run a transformational coaching session.
If you truly want to create deep transformation for your clients, knowing how to work with the subconscious mind is a MUST.
When you immerse yourself in learning about the subconscious mind and tools like NLP, hypnosis, and TIME Techniques, (all of which you can learn and become certified in through YES SUPPLY) you will never wonder what to do in a mindset coaching session again!
I personally used these tools to manifest the life and business of my dreams, which is why I’m so passionate about showing others how to do the same! Check out My 5-Step Coaching System Masterclass where I show you how I went from shy and insecure to sharing my message, creating a million-dollar business, and helping SO many mindset coaches like you to achieve all of their goals, too.
I hope that you take everything you’ve learned from this post and follow your intuition on which ones to implement into your own mindset coaching sessions. Sending you so much love on your journey. 💗
