What Is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT Tapping)

Have you ever just LOOOOOOOVED something so much. Like a ritual that makes you INHALE DEEPLY and release so greatly and just feel amazing. Emotional Freedom Techniques Tapping will do that for you, and it’s a easy tool to take ANYWHERE with you.

If there’s people in your life who might be stressed out like your daughter or son, a coworker or a partner, you can show them the videos and they can easily use them to feel better too.

The effects for me in my life of taking on this little two minute exercise have changed EVERYTHING for me and helped me see miracles in my life.

I love incorporating it into my morning routines when I’m feeling stressed out or I want to strengthen and raise my vibration and I can manifest when I want. 

I can think of COUNTLESS times where I’ve been in fear, and overwhelm in my life or business. So much anxiety that I felt like I couldn’t move forward. I drowning in analysis paralysis.

And tapping saved me. Just by tapping I regained my ability to think clearly, get focused, get those negative and scary vibes out of my body and have the POWER in my body to move forward and do what. I wanted to do regardless of fear, imposter syndrome, and other things that plague entrepreneurs and high achievers.

So, what is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Tapping?

Emotional freedom techniques is an incredible technique to help you feel good at any moments.

In the caffeine- fueled and fast paced world we live in, we experience much of our time in “fight or flight mode”

I remember my days of working in fast paced retail store in Toronto. Every single day I would peeeeeeel myself out of bed. I often tested up on my commute to work. Because I just knew I was not meant to be working in that job and I was meant to be doing so much more. I was meant to do work that was meaningful to me and I was meant to make WAY more money. My intuition knew something was off which is why I just couldn’t stand to be there!

At work I would be GUZZLING giant cups of coffee, while trying to stay on my goal of selling three hundreds dollars an hour. Needless to say I was strung OUT. Stressed out. My cortisol + adreniline were on a HIGH!

BUT that’s not what our fight or flight response should be used for. We shouldn’t use it ALL the time, because then we aren’t in our parasympathetic nervous system that allows our bodies and organs to heal and replenish.

If you’re constantly stressed out and feeling in fear, then your body is in a mode where it just wants to RUN, and get into safety. Your body is sending signals to the brain saying YIKES! It’s dangerous out there. We better hide and be scared out of our minds.

That creates slower and less focused thinking, less creativity, more stress, feeling on edge and it’s overall not a very fun place to be either.

The beauty about EFT tapping is we get to rebalance those signals that are being sent to the brain. We do this by tapping on our own ends of our energy meridian points!

It gives many of the same benefits of acupuncture without the needles! We simply tap on the same points that acupuncturists typically use and we let the body relax and feel safer, and happier.

Studies on EFT Tapping and it’s influence have discussed that negative emotions are felt via a break up in the body’s energy flow.

The concept of energy comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine which is often called ch’i.

Hundreds of studies have been done on EFT showing that Emotional Freedom Techniques helps profoundly with PTSD, Stabalizing Mood, Anxiety, those recovering from trauma and emotions post- sexual abuse, and even studies like this one from Science Direct showing how EFT can minimize depressive symptoms.

How Does EFT Tapping Work?

Imagine you have a TV set and you took the back off and jammed a screwdriver in there? It would go ZZZzzZT!

And POOF. The picture would go out. There was a disruption of energy.

The same thing happens for us as humans. Something happens, an external trigger, and our energy system gets disrupted, and we feel not-so-hot.

We can in that moment step away and go through a tapping session to rebalance our energy and feel AMAZING to move on to bigger and better things.

Taking 5 minutes to do a EFT tapping session on your own (in your car, your room, sneaking away to the bathroom etc can help you get OUT of icky feelings and back into being your BEST SELF ?

How Do I Do EFT Tapping?

You can easily do Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) where ever. All you need is your fingertips and a few specific places that I will outline to you.

In any moment where you want to shift your emotions, feel way better, you can simply start by:

  1. Rate the intensity on a scale of 0-10 (Use contrast)
  2. Tapping on your Karate Chop point on the side of the hand
  3. While doing this, focus in on your problem while saying the name of the problem out loud.
  4. Then go through each of the different meridian points while tapping and saying the following affirmation:
    “Even though I have this *problem* I completely and totally accept myself (See in video)
  5. Go through all the points
  6. Re-rank yourself on a scale of 0-10
  7. Tap through all the points again
  8. Repeat 6 & 7 over and over again
  9. Then tap in the positive affirmations
  10. Feel AMAZINGGGGG!

What Emotions Can Tapping Help With?

Tapping can help with ANY emotion you might be dealing with. It could be anger, fear, anxiety, sadness, resentment, or anything else that is slowing you down or making you feel bad.

If you have fear of public speaking, or you’re worried or blocking yourself from creating more abundance, or better relationships, you can use tapping to release those fears and beliefs that are blocking you.

I have also used it for headaches, cramps when it’s that time of the month, or if I wake up feeling funky.

You can use it to release Negative Emotions and Limiting Decisions. It can lower cravings, help you imprint positive affirmations and visions for your life and feel better.
