A TRUE STORY OF MANIFESTATION…
I was able to leave my job after two short months of launching my business. I know that’s a nice story but I can assure you that it wasn’t as easy as it sounds! The months leading up to this miracle were trying, to say the least!
Women reach out to me regularly to ask me when they should leave their 9-5s. Although all situations are different, it still takes the same core steps to know when it’s right to make your big move.
If you’re dreaming of turning your side-hustle into an empire, first off, congrats. That’s huge!
Secondly, here are the steps I took to get aligned with my purpose to know when it was the right time to dive in!
STEP 1: GET CLEAR ON YOUR DESIRES
The universe has BIG plans for you! It’s time to start listening to your desires. My guess is that your daydreams don’t include neon lights and polyester pencil skirts.
Don’t let your current situation fog up your desires! This takes a lot of mindset work and opening your eyes up to possibilities outside of your excuses.
For me, this step was hiring a coach and committing to daily meditation. You can get more information on meditation in my post, How to Meditate Your Way to a Successful Empire. I knew I had to do something big to push past my limiting beliefs of what I was and wasn’t capable of and realize that I really a limitless.
Get super clear on your desires and don’t let the fears get in the way! What does your dream life look like? How do you want to spend your days? What’s your strategy to get there?
STEP 2: GRATITUDE + VISUALIZATIONS
It’s super important to honor the beginning stages of starting a business and enjoy the process rather than getting caught up in impatience.
Once I started building my business, I wanted to quit my job yesterday. My 9-5 took precious hours away from working on my business, put me into a negative head space, and it was NOT in line with my desires.
I complained about it so much that I was even bored listening to it.
My coach introduced a foreign concept to me, being grateful for my job. I resisted that for a long time because I didn’t want the universe to actually think I liked it. What if they kept me there forever?!
I decided to give it a shot and every morning I wrote down 3 ways I was grateful for my job. Here are some examples:
– I am grateful I have a steady pay check while I build my dreams
– I am grateful that the universe is showing me that I am not meant for a 9-5
– I am grateful to work for a young entrepreneur that is showing me what’s possible for me and things I should and should not do in my business.
Every morning I wrote these out and then spent time visualizing what my dream life looked like in 3 months, 6 months and in 1 year.
In these glorified day-dreams I would get so clear on my desires that i could feel them. I was putting myself on the right frequency to receive!
Within a few weeks of this practice, the CEO of the company (who I am still great friends with today) took me for lunch to tell me he decided to move the company to the US and that I could either come with them or I could stay and work from home.
I manifested this! I now got to work from home, spend more time on my business, and get a pay-check!
Commit to this daily gratitude practice and see what unfolds for you!
STEP 3: BE AUTHENTIC
My direct boss was super negative and used to call me for like an hour per week to bad-mouth other people in the office. I would literally turn into a pretend mean-girl and give him the “Oh my god really?! She did that?!” or the “I know right…she is soooo annoying.”
I fully was in on the office gossip even though I liked everyone! I just wanted to be in my boss’ good books.
I decided that was not good for my soul.
I started telling my boss I had to go, or saying something nice about the person he was trash-talking to me. My absolute favorite way to deal with these drama calls was to hold the phone away from my ear for minutes at a time and then just check in with the occasional “Oh really?”
Just because the environment is nasty and negative, you don’t have to take part! How can you be authentic and in-line with your positivity when you’re at work?
STEP 4: CONSISTENCY (How I manifested being able to leave my job)
I knew I had to work hard on my business but I also had to work hard at my job-job to show the universe that I take things seriously (to make sure I still had money coming in) AND I had to continue to work on improving myself.
I kept up with the gratitude, I removed myself from the trash talk, I worked on my business and visualized my dream life every day as a part of my daily practice!
Time blocking was my new best friend. I had set hours to work on “work” and set hours to work on my businesses and those times slots were non-negotiable!
I launched my coaching business and got a few clients right away.
STEP 5: INTUITION
I didn’t want to get ahead of myself by quitting in week 1, although I sooo wanted to. I tuned into my intuition and knew that it wasn’t the right time. The Universe had a plan for me!
Soon enough, I got a call from my boss to tell me the company was no longer running business in Canada but I could stay on for another month and get a really good severance.
This was even better than quitting! I got to leave my job and get paid to do so!
I knew I had to grind to get consistent income from my business. I made an 8 week marketing plan for my business and got more clients than I set out for.
I was able to cash my severance check into my savings account and there it sits to this day.
I now sell double my monthly salary each month and am living my purpose, to help women learn gratitude and how to manifest whatever the eff they want.
I am sharing this story with you to show you the power of clear desires, gratitude, authenticity and intuition!
Your journey obviously won’t unfold the exact same way mine did, but so much is possible and often the universe has things in store for you that are in line with your desires, you just have to be your true self and listen to the whispers.
Take time out each day to sit in silence and ask yourself what you need!
Try some free-flow journaling. At the top of the page, write “What do I need in order to leave my 9-5.” Set a times for 5 minutes and put pen to paper! Don’t lift your pen until the buzzer rings and see what you come up with!
No one can tell you when it’s the right time but the answer is already inside you girl-friend!
