If you want to build a life and a business that lights you up, there are amazing morning rituals that can really make a huge difference. When you start your morning with positive energy, you can create momentum that carries through the rest of your day. Keep reading to learn about a few of the morning rituals that made all the difference for me in growing my multi-million dollar coaching business!
When I started YES SUPPLY, I was literally in the biggest rut in my life.
I was not having fun at my job, and some days, I was even crying before I went to work. I felt so out of alignment with what I wanted to be doing, and I didn’t know where to start to change it.
Eventually, I realized that if I wanted my life to change, I had to do the inner work to change it first… and it all started with my morning rituals.
By starting my mornings off with positive energy, I was able to create momentum for myself and carry that energy throughout the day.
I went from being shy, insecure, and my own biggest bully… to believing in myself, becoming so much more confident, and taking action towards my dreams.
I started to believe that if other people could create their YES life, there was no reason I couldn’t too.
(In fact, the difference that my morning habits were making in my life inspired me to create “Good Morning Beautiful,” which was one of YES SUPPLY’s first products!)
All of this is possible for you too, and one of the best ways to get started is to create a morning ritual where you take some time to do things that make you feel present, in alignment, and grateful for both what you have AND what’s to come.

Feed Your Subconscious Mind With Positivity
There are two times of day when your subconscious mind is the most relaxed and open to what you feed it: first thing in the morning and right before bed.
So many of us fall asleep watching something that’s not serving our minds or wake up first thing in the morning and grab our phones to scroll through social media… and the thing is, this puts you in a state where you’re really looking outward instead of inward.
I’m sure you’ve heard this tip before… but I’m proof of how much this can change your life.
The first morning habit I created that really helped me change the way I looked at myself was to NOT start my day by looking at my phone.
At the time, I was working at a retail job I was not in love with, and I noticed I was waking up and starting my day by looking at what everyone else was doing.
I’d see someone I followed on vacation in Tahiti, landing their dream job, or buying a house… and I realized that I was living in this bubble where I was watching everyone else achieve their goals… and I wasn’t.
Eventually, I had this a-ha moment…
What if instead of starting my day looking at everyone else achieving their goals, I started my day looking inward at myself and the goals that I could accomplish?
I started to think about:
What do I want to accomplish?
What am I capable of?
What would I like to create that would bring me so much happiness and joy?
Just by shifting my attention to asking these questions, I was taking the first steps to creating my new life.
Visualization
One of the best morning habits to start off your day is to spend some time in creative visualization.
This was big for me when I started YES SUPPLY.
What I’ve noticed a lot is that everyone knows what they don’t want, but not what they do want.
If you only know that you hate your boss, you don’t want to be in debt, or you don’t like where you live, then how can you get somewhere else?
You need to get to know your YES so that you can start to visualize it.
Remember being a kid and playing power rangers, or mermaids and it felt so real? You really WERE that power ranger, that spice girl, or mermaid!
We lose that as we grow up, but you need your imagination now more than ever, because you can actually go after you want! You have ultimate freedom.
So ask yourself:
What does my YES life look like?
What would a day in your life be like if everything was going exactly how you want it to?
If you had the job, the home, the friendships, and the health that you want?
Then, close your eyes and visualize it.
Visualize it every day, and when you have a crystal clear picture, mountains will move to make it real in your life.
I can tell you about so many opportunities that have come to me through completely unexpected avenues.
The Universe will work for you to send you exactly what you want, but it has to know what that is.
Focus your mind on a picture of what you want, and miracles will occur in your life.
You can do this for a few minutes every day before you even get out of bed!
Mirror Rituals for Self-Love
As I incorporated some of these morning habits of successful people into my life, I was gaining a self-awareness that I had never experienced before…
…I started to realize that 9 of the 10 things I said to myself were not that nice.
I’d look in the mirror and I couldn’t stop thinking negative thoughts like:
I hate my hair.
I don’t like my skin.
I don’t have enough clothes to wear.
I hate my job.
Ugh, I have to catch the bus…
…That was the track that was playing on repeat in my head, so no wonder my life looked like that!
Every morning, I was waking up and just repeating my same negative mantras from the day before, making every day the same as the one before.
(It’s amazing to think about that now and see how much my life has changed since then!)
So I decided instead of picking apart everything I didn’t like about myself, why not try to cultivate what I do like about myself?
At the time, there wasn’t that much that I liked about myself.
When people would compliment me and say things like, “I wish I was as tall as you,” I took it almost like a figure of speech. I’d negate the compliment and tell them things like, “Oh, no you don’t, it’s terrible, it’s impossible to find pants that touch the ground…”
I understand now that when you have that low of a level of self-love and self-belief, you’ll never hear or receive the compliments that people give you.
I recognized that this needed to stop, so what I started to do was look for things I could like about myself and compliment myself.
I’d look in the mirror and give myself compliments, positive affirmations, and little pats on the back… and now I see how those little habits changed me.
Many successful people even use whiteboard markers to write these positive affirmations to themselves on their mirrors so they can see them every day.
Another powerful morning habit is to practice saying “I love you” to yourself in the mirror.
Think about it:
Most of us only say “I love you” to the special people in our lives — and that’s beautiful and amazing — but we have to remember that we spend more time with ourselves than we do with anyone else!
It’s time to make the decision to love yourself, accept yourself, be kind to yourself… and if you have trouble with this, step outside yourself and imagine that you’re your best friend… how would you treat them?
Even if you can’t think of the reasons why you love yourself yet, think about how you’ve always been there for yourself… even when you’ve gone through tough times, you’ve always figured it out somehow.
Give yourself the opportunity to be grateful for being you, for loving you, for sticking up for yourself.
Self-love is not a sprint, it’s a marathon… something you commit to getting better at.
No one is handed a user’s manual to life, but as long as you commit to getting better every day, you can always find reasons to love yourself.
Try it and see what happens!

Journaling
Journaling is one of the most common morning habits of successful people, and it’s also one of my favorite tools to help overcome limiting beliefs.
Give yourself the freedom to write about your YES life every single day in your journal.
You can start by simply asking the question:
“What would I ask for if I knew the answer would be YES?”
Describe your dream life in vivid detail. Go wild! Journaling is a beautiful way to start putting that inspiration down on paper.
And if you find negative thoughts and fears coming up about why you can’t have this life, or why it’s impossible for you, it’s the perfect chance to practice shifting those limiting beliefs.
You can identify the belief and journal out why the opposite is true.
For example, when I was building YES SUPPLY and I’d have a thought like, “I’ll never be a successful speaker…” I’d replace that thought with, “I WILL be a successful speaker, I have a story to tell that a lot of people need to hear.”
You can do this again and again with any limiting thought that comes up so that you’re feeding yourself positive thoughts that get you closer to your YES life.
In this way, you’ll stop telling yourself “no” before you’ve even started.
When you see yourself assuming the answer will be “no” before you even try, you’re basing your future on your past.
The truth is that the future will never look like the past unless you keep doing the exact same things.
So next time you’re feeling scared to apply for a job, go after a client, or ask for a collaboration, don’t tell yourself “no” before you’ve tried.
Journal out all the ways that it COULD go amazingly for you, and give yourself the chance for that to become your reality.
Another practice that I love to use journaling for is to write gratitude lists.
Take time to celebrate your wins, and remember the importance of having fun along the way.
You can also write gratitude lists for the present moment AND for the future.
In fact, writing gratitude for the future is one of my favorite tools for manifestation. (Click here to read more on how to use scripting to manifest anything you want!)
Meditation
Meditation has absolutely changed my life.
Meditation gives me quiet time to relax and open my mind to receive the creativity and ideas I need to hear, and that’s why it’s among the most popular morning habits of successful people.
There are so many different ways to meditate, but one of my favorite ways is just to be present in the moment and allow myself to “check my messages” from the Universe.
Allow yourself freedom from your to-do lists and just sit and be present in the moment.
If your mind is too occupied, it’s too busy to hear the incredible ideas that are waiting for you.
Great ideas can come when you’re doing repetitive tasks, like going on a walk, tidying up, doing dishes, taking a shower… but meditation allows you to speed up that creative flow by opening your mind to whatever is present.
Try this calming morning ritual I created to help you tap into your intuition!
Create Intentional Rituals
One of the morning habits that’s easy to implement right now and will make such a huge difference in your life is to just slow down and be intentional.
What I mean by that is that you can turn everything you do in the morning into a ceremony and really make it feel like a beautiful, intentional ritual.
For me, that started with my makeup ritual.
Instead of throwing open my makeup as quickly as I could and running out the door, I started to slow down and really enjoy the process.
I was really intentional about every swipe of mascara and I gave myself permission to turn putting my makeup on into feeling like I’m creating art, and expressing myself.
I also started putting more fun into picking out my outfits.
It made me feel more grateful and aware of every moment, and it turned my mornings into something beautiful and refreshing instead of rushed.
I probably took longer to do everything, but somehow, I still ended up on time. It’s amazing how time can expand and relax when you take the time to experience your life more fully.
Remember that the only moment that we really have is right now… and it’s yours to enjoy.
Set Intentions for the Day
Another one of the morning habits of successful people that you’ll often hear about is setting intentions for the day.
This was huge for me when I was first starting YES SUPPLY.
I didn’t know any platforms that were doing what I did, and I worried people would think what I was doing was cheesy or weird.
I didn’t 100% know what I was doing, and there was no roadmap for success, so that left a lot of room for self-doubt to creep in.
That said, I knew this was my passion, my deepest desire… and I was determined to take one step closer to it every day, no matter what.
So when you’re setting your daily intentions, ask yourself:
What is ONE THING I can do today to get me closer to my YES?
If you want to build a business, but you’re treating it like a hobby, it’s going to stay a hobby.
You may be juggling a lot — family, jobs, friendships — but the intention doesn’t have to be something that takes hours and hours.
What if you could just take 10 minutes to do something that’ll get you closer to where you want to be?
Put the energy into what you desire and trust that it will come back to you.
Set that intention, write it down, and move on it. Things will start to take shape. You’ll start to get momentum.
Wake up and do things that give your day meaning, and be proud of yourself for taking steps towards your YES.
Do this and I promise, you’ll start to see a huge difference in your life.
Even if you just incorporate one of these morning habits or morning rituals into your day, it’ll begin to have a ripple effect across your entire life.
I’m so grateful for all the success we’ve had with the YES SUPPLY METHOD, but I know that I also started the place from a place of detachment, where I knew I’d be SO happy if it all worked out… and if it didn’t, I knew I’d be grateful that I went for something that I really believed in, and didn’t wait for permission to do it.
So I invite you to no longer wait for permission to do the thing you want to do…
THIS IS YOUR PERMISSION.
Know that if you do your part and have faith that it’ll all work out, the Universe will fill in the rest of the details…
…And it’ll all come together in a way that you can’t possibly imagine.
