The Secret of Healthy Nibbling 3 ‘Yes’ Recipes for Nicecream

When we first stumbled across Lea’s Instagram we were blown away by her amazing Instagram feed, the photography, her dedication to getting ‘yes’ through healthy and fun eating, and her unbelievable towers of nice cream, especially at such a young age.  We we’re also shocked to find out she hadn’t yet started a food blog yet, as we know she would be super successful with it. She was interested in getting started blogging, and we were interested in how she creates those leaning towers of ice-creamy perfection, so a collab post with some of her favorite recipes sounded perfect! Definitely reach out to Lea to encourage her and find her on instagram at @veganfortheworld.

Hi lovelies! First of all I want to say that I’m so honoured to collaborate with yessupply and to write this blog post about my favorite kind of food for you. I mean, who doesn’t love ice cream?

To introduce myself: I’m Lea, a 15 year old vegan food lover and recipe creator from the North of Germany and I have an Instagram page called @veganfortheworld where I share my passion with you. I decorate the food I eat and write  about things that come into my mind and that I’d like to spread with the world. If you’re interested in healthy, cruelty free and delicious food inspiration and recipes, I would be very happy if you checked it out.

I changed my lifestyle and especially my eating habits 1 1/2 years ago which was definitely the best decision of my life, so far. At that time I really thought it would be very hard to eat ice cream again, since the supermarkets in my little village do only have sorbets which taste totally awful and artificial or that I would have to buy an ice cream maker to prepare it at home.

But then I discovered nicecream which is a raw vegan, super creamy, delicious and healthy variant of normal ice cream on the basis of frozen bananas, which may be the reason for my healthy way of eating today. Every time I was craving for something sweet I enjoyed this treat, instead of any unhealthy candies or chocolate which are stuffed with sugar and fats that are obviously not good for our bodies. Right after the first spoon I got completely addicted and I’m sure that you’ll love it too as you have the possibility to vary the recipe however you wish – just to your own taste. Even if you don’t like bananas, you don’t have to be sad because I have a special recipe for you, below.

What I absolutely love about nicecream and my lifestyle in general is to treat myself with things that are actually good for my body and me. After eating, I don’t feel tired or have to regret eating because I’m full of energy and feel very vibrant.

The best news is that you just need a normal mixer (or a high speed blender, which makes it even easier) and that it doesn’t take much time to make – it depends on the quality of your blender. With a high speed blender your healthy treat will be ready in under a minute, whereas the procedure in a normal mixer can take about 5-8 minutes.

By the time I tried many different variations and now, it’s a part of my everyday life, as I eat it even as a whole meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Below, I’m sharing three different recipes with you, which I’m all so excited about!

Plain Nicecream

Ingredients: bananas (about 2-3 for a dessert or 6-8 for a whole meal)

This mono meal (=meal that only contains one kind of food) tastes awesome just as it is, but like I already said, you have so many options to vary this recipe. What I like to add are:
-raw cacao or carob powder
-vanilla
-cinnamon
-peanut butter (or any other nut butter)
-pitted dates (to make it even sweeter and creamier)
-coconut cream
-mint leaves
-lemon or orange juice
-superfoods like açai, wheatgrass, spirulina, maca…)
-raw veggies (yeah, that may sounds a bit strange but it’s a great way to eat your greens without even tasting them, for those of you who don’t really like veggies)
-red beet (sounds weird, too but it makes the most beautiful pink nicecream in the world)

Mango Nicecream

Ingredients: mangoes (about 2 for a dessert or 4-5 for a whole meal)

This one is perfect for those of you who don’t like bananas because it actually isn’t even nicecream, as it only contains frozen mangoes, but the preparation is exactly the same.

Fruitful Nicecream

Ingredients: bananas (about 1-2 for a dessert or 4-5for a whole meal)
1-2 cups other fruit (berries, kiwi, pineapple, peaches…)

+ Preparation

Peel and pit all the fruit you need and put them in the freezer overnight. When frozen, there are two different ways to prepare your banana ice cream. It depends on the quality of your mixer.

With a high speed blender: Just add all your ingredients and blend on the highest level for about 5 seconds, then turn it a bit down and wait until the consistency becomes nice and creamy. The procedure takes about 20 seconds.

With a normal blender: It will help if you put some not frozen fruit first to start the process and add the other frozen fruits in a next step. It may also be easier for the mixer to blend two little amounts instead of everything at once. Then turn it on and let the magic happen! You will probably have to stop the procedure a few times to stir the ingredients (but pay attention that the machine is not turned on when doing this!!!). It should take about 7 minutes, which is obviously not very much, contrary to cooking a meal and in the end the taste is really worth it!

Now it’s time for the chocolate layer. Whatever you prefer, a chocolate shell or a chocolate sauce, you can try both recipes without bad conscience. They are super easy to make, delicious, healthy and just awesome.

Nicecream

Raw Vegan Chocolate Sauce

1/4cup agave syrup (or any other syrup like maple syrup)
1/4cup raw unsweetened cacao powder
1 tbsp coconut oil

Raw Vegan Chocolate Shell

1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup raw unsweetened cacao powder
1/4 cup agave syrup (or any other syrup like maple syrup)

+ Preparation

Just mix the ingredients together (using spoon or a mixer) and pour it on top of your nicecream.

In a last step add your favorite toppings like:
-fruits
-berries
-nuts
-coconut chips
-raw buckwheat
-super foods (like chia seeds, mulberries, goji berries…)
-dried fruits
-peanut butter (or any other nut butter)
